Danish Wassail

List of Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 dozen whole cloves
- 6 allspice buds
- 1 pinch ginger
- juice of 6 lemons or 1 6-oz can frozed lemonaide (reconstituted)
- juice of 10 oranges or 1 12-oz can frozen orange juice (reconstituted)
- 8 cups apple cider
Instructions
- Bring water and sugar to a boil and stir until sugar dissolves. Tie spices in a cheesecloth bag and steep in sugar water for one hour.
- Add sugar water solution to juices and cider, heat and serve.
- Garnish with lemon slices if desired.
- The water, sugar and spice base can be refrigerated until ready for use, then add to juices and heat.
