    I got this from my Danish grandmother


    List of Ingredients


    • 4 cups water
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 3 cinnamon sticks
    • 1 dozen whole cloves
    • 6 allspice buds
    • 1 pinch ginger
    • juice of 6 lemons or 1 6-oz can frozed lemonaide (reconstituted)
    • juice of 10 oranges or 1 12-oz can frozen orange juice (reconstituted)
    • 8 cups apple cider


    Instructions


    1. Bring water and sugar to a boil and stir until sugar dissolves. Tie spices in a cheesecloth bag and steep in sugar water for one hour.
    2. Add sugar water solution to juices and cider, heat and serve.
    3. Garnish with lemon slices if desired.
    4. The water, sugar and spice base can be refrigerated until ready for use, then add to juices and heat.
