Big Soft Pretzels

- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 5 to 5 1/2 cups flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- pretzel salt
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm water. Beat in honey, then gradually add 3 cups of flour, beating well until mixture pulls away from bowl in stretchy strands.
- Add enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead until smooth and satiny, about 10 minutes.
- With knife cut off small pieces of dough and roll into 10 inch ropes and place on cookie sheet in the shape of pretzels.
- Let rise in warm place for 15 minutes or until slightly puffy. brush each with egg beaten with a little water and sprinkle with pretzel salt.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
