    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 2 tablespoons flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
    • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
    • 9-inch unbaked pie shell
    • Crumb Topping:
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1/2 cup flour
    • 1/4 cup butter

    Instructions

    1. Peel, core and cut apples into 1/2 inch slices (approx. 8 cups.)
    2. Combine sugar, flour and spices; mix well with the apple slices, then evely mound mixture in prepared pie crust.
    3. Prepare crumb topping by mixing sugar and flour, then cut in butter until mixture resembles course crumbs. Pat evenly over the top of apples.
