    Clam Chowder

    Source of Recipe

    This is my own recipe.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 onion, diced
    • 2 stalks celery, diced
    • 8 to 10 potatoes, diced
    • water
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 3/4 cup butter
    • 3/4 cup flour
    • 1 quart milk or half and half
    • small can clams

    Instructions

    1. In large pot, saute onion and celery in a small amount of butter.
    2. Add potatoes, water to top of potatoes, and salt and pepper; cook until potatoes are tender.
    3. In another pan, melt the butter and stir in flour. Cook, stirring constantly, for 3 to 4 minutes. Gradually add the milk or half and half. Stir into the potato mixture. Bring just to a boil, stir in clams (add juice too, if you like more clam flavor), and serve.
