    This simple recipe comes from John F. Mariani's "Dictionary of American Food and Drink."


    Shake with ice 2 1/2 ounces of fine Kentucky bourbon and 1/2 ounce Benedictine. Strain into an old-fashioned glass. Makes 1 serving.
