    1 large package (8 ounces) crescent rolls
    1 can (15 ounces) asparagus spears cut in one-inch pieces, or fresh
    4 ounces shredded Swiss cheese
    8 ounces shredded mozzarella
    8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 dozen eggs
    11/2 tablespoons dried minced onion
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon dried oregano
    1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

    Press crescent rolls in one layer in a 9-by-13-inch pan. Spread asparagus evenly over dough. Sprinkle Swiss, mozzarella and Cheddar cheeses over the dough and asparagus.

    In a large bowl beat the eggs with the onion, garlic powder, oregano and pepper. Pour over cheese. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until center of casserole is firm. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before cutting.

    Serves eight.

    Cook's note: Optional additions include cooked vegetables, cubed ham, cooked sausage and cooked, chopped bacon.
