    4 thick slices wholemeal bread
    2oz/60g watercress
    2 pears, peeled, cored & sliced
    1oz/30g butter
    8oz/225g Blue Wensleydale cheese

    Recipe



    Preheat the oven to 220°C/425°F/Gas Mark 7

    Toast the slices of bread, butter them and place watercress on top

    Arrange pear slices over the watercress and cover with blue Wensleydale cheese

    Place into a shallow oven proof dish or non stick baking sheet

    Cook in the centre of the oven for about 5 minutes until the pears begin to turn golden and the cheese has melted

    Serves 4.
