    500g Saxby Puff Pastry
    450g (1lb) Sausagemeat
    1 Medium Eating Apple, peeled and diced.
    1 Egg, beaten
    25g (1oz) Cheddar Cheese, grated.
    Salt & Pepper



    ENSURE THAT PASTRY HAS BEEN LEFT AT ROOM TEMPERATURE FOR 30 MINUTES

    Preheat the oven 220C/425F/Gas Mark 7.
    Mix the sausagemeat with diced apple. Rollout the pastry into approximately 45cm x 20cm. Trim of a strip measuring 5cm.

    Roll the sausagemeat into a tube shape and place on the pastry. Roll the pastry around the sausagemeat, ensuring the seam is on the bottom. Using a sharp knife, score through the roll to within 1cm of the other side, all along the long side at 2.5cm intervals.

    Decorate and place on a baking sheet and shape into a circle, with the cut side on the outside and bring the edges together.

    Brush the top of the ring with the beaten egg and decorate with the remaining pastry glaze again. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 35-45 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and slightly risen . If pastry is browning too quickly, cover with foil and continue baking.
