    Butter - 110g (4 oz)
    Plain flour - 900g (2 lb), sifted
    Caster sugar - 50g (2 oz)
    Salt - pinch
    Egg - 1
    Condensed milk - 300 ml (10 fl oz)
    Fresh yeast - 15g (½ oz), dissolved in 150 ml (5 fl oz) warm water

    Recipe



    Rub the butter into the flour and stir in the sugar and salt.

    Warm the condensed milk and beat the egg into it. Add the yeast mixture, mix into a dough and leave in a warm place to rise.

    When it is ready, make into buns and put on a greased baking sheet to prove.

    Preheat the oven to 200 ºC / 400 ºF / Gas 6. Bake for about 20 minutes. Wash over with sugar and water

    Makes 20.
