    4 oz breadcrumbs
    4 oz. flour
    4 oz. shredded suet
    4 oz black currant jam
    2 oz. castor sugar
    A little bicarbonate of soda
    a little milk
    A little salt

    Recipe



    Mix flour, breadcrumbs, suet, salt and sugar. Make a well in the centre and put in the jam; warm the milk, add the bicarbonate of soda to it and pour over the jam. Mix everything together. Place in a well-greased basin or mould and steam for 3 hours. Serve with black currant jam sauce.
