    Yorkshire Fat Rascals

    List of Ingredients




    2 cups all-purpose or plain flour
    Generous 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    Salt
    1 Tablespoon dark brown sugar
    4 Tablespoons butter or margarine
    1/2 cup currants
    1 Tablespoon milk
    2 to 3 Tablespoons water
    Sugar

    Recipe



    Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
    Mix the flour and baking powder.Add a pinch of salt, mix in the brown sugar and rub in the butter or margarine.Add the currants, milk, and just enough water to make a soft dough.
    Roll out the dough on a well-floured surface to approximately 1/2 inch thickness and using a glass dipped in flour, cut into 2 inch rounds.
    dust each round with a little sugar and place on well greased baking sheets.
    Bake for 20 minutes or until the Rascals begin to turn golden.
    Cool on a rack before serving.
