    INDIANA SUGAR CREAM PIE

    1 cup sugar
    1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons cornstarch
    2 1/4 cup milk
    1 stick butter
    pinch of salt
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Recipe



    In heavy saucepan over low heat, stir together all but the vanilla. Cook and
    keep stirring till thickened. ( as you know milk scorches easily.)

    Stir in vanilla and pour into a pre-baked 9-inch pie shell.

    When cooled apply flavorings of your choice from nutmeg to cinnamon to
    corn-meal.
