    1 cup regular grits (not instant)
    1/2 cup butter or margarine
    4 cups milk (whole or skim)
    1 teaspoon salt
    Pepper to taste
    Sharp cheddar or Gruyere cheese
    Parmesan cheese

    Recipe



    Combine the grits, butter, milk, salt and
    pepper in a pot and cook over medium heat.
    Stir constantly until the grits are the
    consistency of cream of wheat. Beat the
    grits with an electric mixer for 5 minutes
    at medium speed. Pour the grits into a
    shallow casserole. Top with either sharp
    cheddar or Gruyere cheese. Sprinkle Parmesan
    cheese over all. Bake at 350 degrees until
    bubbling, about 20 to 30 minutes. Serve
    hot. Truly enjoy. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
