    I got this recipe from the Toronto Star Newspaper about 25 years ago. This is a long standing family favourite. Very tasty and easy to make. Baby Kato

    List of Ingredients




    2 lbs ground beef
    1 medium onion, grated
    2 eggs
    2 1/2 teaspoons salt
    1/8 teaspoon pepper
    2 tablespoons soya sauce
    2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    1 (14.00 ounces) can pineapple chunks (save juice)
    2 ounces pineapple juice
    1/2 cup white sugar
    1/4 cup cornstarch
    1/2 cup cider vinegar
    10 ounces frozen peas or canned peas
    steamed jasmine rice or long grain rice

    Recipe



    1. Mix ground beef, onions, eggs, salt and pepper together.
    2. Shape mixture into 32 small balls.
    3. Dip meatballs in soya sauce to coat.
    4. Add any remaining soya sauce to frying pan and brown meatballs in soya sauce and oil.
    5. Place meatballs in a 10 cup baking dish.
    6. Drain syrup from pineapple chunks and combine with pineapple juice.
    7. Mix together sugar, cornstarch and 1/2 tsp salt.
    8. Stir in juice mixture and vinegar.
    9. Mix well.
    10. Cook juice mixture in same pan as meatballs, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens and boils.
    11. Combine pineapple chunks and peas with the meatballs in dish.
    12. Pour sauce over the meatballs and cover.
    13. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.
    14. Serve ontop of cooked rice.
