    1 pkg. 16 ozs. butter-flavor crackers, crushed
    3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter, melted
    2 cups chunked cooked boneless, skinless chicken
    1 can ( 8-ozs) water chestnuts, drained and chopped
    1 can (10-3/4 ozs.) condensed cream of mushroom soup
    1 can (10-3/4 ozs) condensed cream of chicken soup
    1 cup sour cream
    1/2 cup water
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1 teaspoon dried basil
    1/8 teaspoon black pepper

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl, combine
    the crushed crackers and the butter; mix well and set
    aside 1/4 cup of the mixture.Spoon the remaining cracker
    mixture evenly into a 9x13" baking dish. Evenly distribute
    the chicken over the cracker layer. Sprinkle the water
    chestnuts over the chicken. In a large bowl, combine
    the mushroom and chicken soups, the sour cream, water,
    garlic, basil, and pepper; mix well and pour over the water
    chestnutsand chicken.Sprinkle with the reserved cracker
    mixture.Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
