    Portia’s Sweetest Sweet Potatoes

    List of Ingredients




    # 6 Large sweet potatoes
    # 2 Teaspoon of cinnamon
    # 2 Teaspoon of nutmeg
    # 1 Cup of butter
    # 2 Tablespoon of vanilla extract
    # 1 Pinch of salt

    Recipe



    Cut and peel six large sweet potatoes. Bring to rolling boil in small saucepan. In a small bowl, mix butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt together. Add one layer of sweet potatoes to large casserole dish and pour portion of cinnamon mixture on top. Add second layer of potatoes followed by cinnamon mixture alternating until all has been finished. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately ½ hour or until the sauce is dark and the potatoes are candied. They should be tender, but a little hard around the edges. Drizzle vanilla extract and serve!
