    List of Ingredients




    1 lb pork, 3/4 inch cube
    3 lbs beef, 3/4 inch cube
    1 1/2 tablespoons ground jalapeno
    1 1/2 tablespoons ground fresh garlic
    1 tablespoon salt
    1 tablespoon ground cominos
    6 tablespoons fresh ancho chilies, pods seeded and ground
    2 teaspoons black pepper
    6 tablespoons good quality chili powder
    Rue
    made from masa flour
    water, as needed

    Recipe



    1. Deseed and clean ancho chili pods.
    2. Soak for 1 hour in hot water.
    3. Drain and grind.
    4. Reserve.
    5. Placee pork and beef cubes into a large stock pot.
    6. Fill with water to cover meat.
    7. Bring to a simmer over medium high heat.
    8. Add jalapenos, garlic, salt, comino, ancho chili pod paste and pepper.
    9. Bring to a boil.
    10. Reduce to a simmer and cook until meat is done.
    11. Add chili powder and mix all ingredients well.
    12. Simmer for 20 minutes.
    13. REmove from heat and thicken with Masa rue.
