    "SILVER STREAK" CHILI

    List of Ingredients

    2 1/2 lb. ground beef
    2 cloves garlic
    2 large onions
    4 strips celery
    pinch of parsley
    1 dried chili pepper
    2 large cans tomatoes
    2 small cans tomato puree
    1 green pepper
    2 large cans red kidney beans
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 can mushrooms
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    pinch of chili powder
    celery salt
    water

    Recipe

    Put ground beef in frying pan and brown; stir frequent-
    ly, then add to pot. Chop fine the garlic; add to chili. Chop
    fine the onions and saute in frying pan; add to chili. Chop
    celery and parsley; add to chili. Add dried chili pepper,
    tomatoes and puree. Add green pepper (cut up into pieces).
    Take red kidney beans, blanch in cold water and then add to
    chili. Add water to your desire. Cook slowly for 1 hour, then
    add sugar. Add mushrooms, salt, pepper and chili powder. Cook
    for 20 more minutes. Stir frequently while cooking. Use
    celery salt for flavor.
