    List of Ingredients




    2 cups diced yellow onion
    2 1/2 cups chopped green bell pepper
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    1 1/2 pounds frozen cooked clam meat, drained (see note)
    1/4 cup canola oil
    3 (16-ounce) cans kidney beans, undrained
    1 (14-ounce) can tomato puree
    1 (14-ounce) can diced tomatoes
    4 cups tomato juice
    1/4 cup chili powder
    2 1/2 tablespoons ground cumin
    1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
    1 tablespoon ground red (cayenne) pepper
    1 1/2 tablespoons sea salt

    Recipe



    In a large pot, over medium heat, saute onion, bell pepper, garlic and clams in oil until slightly browned.

    Stir in beans, tomato puree, diced tomatoes, tomato juice, chili powder, cumin, crushed red pepper, cayenne, and salt. Simmer for 35 minutes or until clams are tender.

    Serves 10.
