1 qt. canned tomatoes
1 sm. can tomato paste
3 cans dark red kidney beans
1 can Hormel chili
1 can chili beans
1 pkg. (1 3/4 oz.) Schilling chili seasoning mix
1 1/2 lb. hamburger
1 1/2 c. chopped onions
Garlic salt and pepper to taste
Dash of chili powder (opt.)Recipe
Combine first 6 ingredients in a large pot. Heat and simmer while you brown hamburger and onions. Mix all together. Simmer at least 1 hour. Stir occasionally. The longer you simmer it, the better it gets.
This recipe handed down to me from my mother, Myrtle Erickson. She was famous for her chili when she operated the old "Coach Cafe" and "Mert's Cafe" in the 1940's. Located in town of Brockway, across the road from "Spuds", now "Jack's or Better".
