    SPANISH CHILI CON CARNE

    3 pork steaks, cut in inch cubes
    1 tbsp. shortening
    3 tbsp. flour
    Salt to taste
    1 tsp. crushed hot red pepper
    2-3 cloves garlic, minced
    1 #2 1/2 can tomatoes or 1 qt.

    Recipe



    Use iron frying pan if possible. Put shortening in pan. Add meat, salt to flavor. When meat is half done add garlic. Stir to keep from burning, let fry until meat is done. Remove meat. Add flour to drippings. Stir until bubbly. Add tomatoes, red pepper and meat; stir well. If too thick add a little water. Simmer 15-20 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes, or beans or rice.
