    List of Ingredients




    1 tbl vegetable oil
    1 1/2 lb ground pork
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp freshly-ground black pepper
    1 med onion chopped
    1 x garlic clove minced
    3 can Great Northern beans - (16 oz ea) undrained
    1 can ready-to-use chicken broth (14 1/2 oz)
    1 can chopped green chilies - (4 oz) undrained
    2 tsp ground cumin
    1 tsp chili powder

    In a soup pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Sprinkle the pork with the salt and pepper and cook for 5 to 6 minutes, breaking up the meat until browned.
    Add the onion and garlic and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, or until the onion is tender.
    Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the chili thickens slightly, stirring occasionally.
    This recipe yields 6 servings.
    Comments: It's soup...no, it's chili...does it really matter? All I know is it's good spoonful after spoonful! For a really hearty meal, serve this in a big bowl over hot cooked rice.
