WDBJ 7's "Survivor Chili"

List of Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef
1 pound frozen pre-cooked salad shrimp
41.5-ounce can beans (pinto or kidney) or
1 small can of each
1 cup onion, chopped
29-ounce can tomato sauce
7-ounce can diced chiles
1 tablespoon minced garlic (or garlic powder to taste)
1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper
3 tablespoons chili powder (add more to taste)
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 tablespoon cumin
1/2 cup red wine
4 tablespoon olive oil
Salt & habanero sauce to taste
Recipe
Place a large sauce pan (we used a 7-quart one) on high heat and add olive oil. When oil is hot, add onion and sauté until tender. Add ground beef and sauté until done.
Add tomato sauce, beans, wine, chiles, garlic, cayenne pepper, chili powder, oregano and cumin. Lower heat to medium, cover and cook for 30 minutes. Add shrimp and allow chili to cook for 15 additional minutes to thaw shrimp and bring chili back up to serving temperature.
Taste and season with salt and habanero sauce to taste.
