    Recipe Introduction

    Amish

    List of Ingredients

    1 cup sugar

2 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided

    2 teaspoons baking powder

    1 tablespoon melted butter

    1 cup milk

1/4 cup light brown sugar, divided

    3 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided

6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into ¼-inch cubes

    Recipe

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease well two (9-inch-round) pie pans. Set aside.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, 2 cups flour and baking powder. Add the melted butter and milk; stir until well mixed. Divide between the two greased pans, spreading evenly.

Sprinkle the tops with a tablespoon each of the remaining flour. Sprinkle each with half the brown sugar and cinnamon. Divide the cubes of butter and push them into the tops of the cakes making holes. These holes get nice and gooey as the cakes bake. Bake the cakes in the center of the oven about 30 minutes or until firm. Best served warm cut into wedges. Makes 2 flops serving 8 each.
