    Longhorn Bread

    Recipe Introduction

The title makes you think this is bread but it's really a quick and eash main dish. We had it with stewed tomatoes, mashed potatoes and salad. See my notes at the end.

    List of Ingredients

    1 pound ground beef
    salt and pepper
1 package frozen French bread dough
    your favorite shredded cheese
    sliced canned jalapeno peppers *

    Recipe

Brown meat in a skillet. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Unroll bread dough flat on cookie sheet. Place ground meat in center, lengthwise. Sprinkle cheeses onto meat, then jalapenos.

Pull sides of dough to the center to cover the ingredients and turn seam to the bottom.

Bake at 350 til dough is light brown. remove from oven and let cool.

    Cut into 1 1/2 - 2" slices.

I used refrigerated, not frozen, French bread dough. I made a solid line of jalapenos down the middle and it was too much for me: Bobby, however, thought it was just right. If you would like it milder, you could just drain a can or two of mild green chiles (chopped or not) and use those instead. I used a little more than a cup of shredded Cheddar.
