    List of Ingredients

    1/2 cup all-purpose flour,
    1 1/2 tablespoons sesame seeds,
    1/2 tablespoon ground thyme,
    3/4 tablespoon poppy seeds,
    1 teaspoon salt,
    8 chicken thighs,
    2 egg whites, lightly beaten,
    4 tablespoons unsalted butter,
    1 round load Sheepherder's bread.

    Melted Herb Butter:
    4 tablespoons butter,
    3 tablespoons sesame seeds,
    1 1/2 teaspoons dried tarragon,
    1 tablespoon ground thyme,
    1 tablespoon poppy seeds.

    Recipe

In small mixing bowl, combine flour, sesame seeds, thyme, tarragon, poppy seeds and 1 teaspoon salt. Dip chicken thighs in beaten egg, and coat each piece in flour mixture. In a 10 or 12 inch skillet, melt butter. Brown chicken thoroughly, about 7 minutes per side over medium heat. Place chicken in 3 quart casserole, cover and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
In small saucepan, combine all herb butter ingredients and heat until melted. Keep warm.
Cut large top off Sheepherder's loaf. Scrape out inside of loaf, leaving about 3/4 inch of bread all the way around. Using a pastry brush, spread herb-butter inside loaf and on inside of top. Place loaf and top on cookie sheet. Arrange chicken in loaf. return to oven and bake uncovered for an additional 20 minutes. Remove loaf from oven, replace top and wrap in several layers of foil, surrounded by several layers of newspaper. Loaf will remain very warm for several hours.
Tastes delicious and travels beautifully for picnic outings and sporting events.
