    PHILADELPHIA SOFT PRETZELS

    From the Pretzel Museum, now closed,

    List of Ingredients




    1 envelope yeast

    1 1/2 cups warm water

    1 tablespoon salt

    1 tablespoon sugar

    4 cups flour

    1 egg

    Coarse salt

    Recipe



    Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add salt and sugar. Blend in flour and knead dough until smooth. Cut into small pieces, roll into ropes and twist into a pretzel shape. Place onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Brush pretzels with beaten egg, sprinkle with coarse salt and bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.

    Makes 12 to 15
