    4 pounds chuck roast
    1 small onion minced
    10 cups water
    1 tablespoon pickling spices
    1 cinnamon stick
    1/2 cup wine
    1/3 cup tomato sauce
    1 head cabbage
    a loaf french bread
    fresh mint
    salt and pepper to taste

    Recipe



    Bring water to boil, add meat, spices tied in a clean cloth, wine, onion, tomato sauce, 2 sprigs of mint, and salt. Cover and cook until meat is tender, about 3 hours. Add cabbage cut in half, cook until tender. Place bread slices with sprig of mint on top of bread in a deep serving bowl. Pour boiling broth over bread. Place cabbage in seperate serving bowl. Place meat to another serving dish and serve with sopas. Serves 6 to 8 people.
