List of Ingredients
2 lbs mushrooms
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons light olive oil
2 cloves garlic
2 small strip red pepper-chopped finely
4-5 shallots-sliced thinly
1 small onion-diced
3 or 4 scallions sliced thinly-optional
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 cup amaretto Recipe
Sauté above ingredients together until onions are translucent. Add 2 pounds sliced fresh mushrooms and continue to sauté.
Add 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano and 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme and continue cooking for 2 more minutes.
Next add 1/4 cup amaretto and simmer for 5 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste. Can be used as a single side dish or with other vegetables. Can also be refrigerated and used later to enhance steak, veal, or pasta dishes.
