    Pecan Spice Scones

    Source of Recipe

    McCormick

    List of Ingredients

    3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1 1/2 teaspoons McCormick® Pumpkin Pie Spice
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups butter or margarine
    1 cup pecans, coarsley chopped
    3 eggs
    1/2 cup milk
    1 1/2 teaspoons McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract

    Recipe

    1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Spray baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.

    2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda and salt in a large bowl; mix well. Cut in butter using a pastry blender or two knives, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Toss in chopped pecans. Whisk together eggs, milk and vanilla in a small bowl, reserving 1 tablespoon. Add wet mixture to dry mixture slowly. Knead until dough forms a ball. (It will be slightly wet.)

    3. Break off 1/4 cup-sized pieces, about the size of an egg. Place on baking sheet. Brush with reserved egg mixture. Bake 18 minutes or until golden brown.

Tip: It is not necessary to form dough pieces into uniform shapes. Loose mounds will make more rustic looking scones.
