Recipe Introduction
A nice change of pace from toast, these cheesy biscuits are delicious on their own or paired with scrambled eggs.
List of Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cake flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp table salt
1 Tbsp parsley, thyme or oregano, fresh, chopped
1 Tbsp chives, fresh, chopped
2 Tbsp light cream cheese
1 slice regular soy cheese, with herbs and garlic, grated
2 Tbsp light butter, cut into small pieces
3/4 cup buttermilk
Recipe
Preheat oven to 400�F. Coat a baking pan with cooking spray.
Whisk together flour, cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and herbs. Add cream cheese, soy cheese and butter, cutting into flour with a pastry cutter or with two table knives.
Stir in buttermilk.
Turn dough onto a floured surface and roll it out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut dough into 10 square or rectangular biscuits.
Set biscuits on prepared pan and bake until golden brown on top, 15 to 20 minutes
