2 sticks butter
2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup Crisco
5 large eggs
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp baking powder


Recipe



Cream together butter, Crisco, and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly between each addition. **Add vanilla to milk (very important!). Sift together flour, salt, and
baking powder. Alternate additions of milk mixture and flour mixture; add to the egg
mixture, beating thoroughly between each addition. Pour into greased and floured loaf tin and bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
