Recipe Introduction
This tasty, eye-catching dessert with a shortbread crust, cream cheese filling, and decorative fruit top always wins praise from guests.
List of Ingredients
Shortbread Crust:
�h 1 cup (2 sticks) butter at room temperature
�h 1/2 cup sugar
�h 2 1/2 cups flour
Cream Cheese Filling:
�h 2 8-ounce packages of cream cheese
�h 1/3 cup milk
�h 1/3 cup sugar
Recipe
Shortbread Crust:
1. Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Sift in flour, mixing well.
3. Press dough together into a ball.
4. Roll to 1/4 or 1/2 inch thickness on lightly floured board.
5. Place in buttered tart pan, pressing dough into the grooved edges with your fingers to make sure the fluted edges are filled.
6. Bake approximately 30 minutes at 300 degrees F until lightly browned.
7. Remove from pan to cool.
Cream Cheese Filling:
1. Mix all ingredients with electric beater until smooth.
2. Spread into recessed center of cooled tart crust.
Decorative Fruit Top
Make a colorful display with your favorite fruits.
Ingredients
Any combination of peach slices, halved strawberries, kiwi slices, banana slices, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, etc.
Preparation
Artfully arrange the fruit on top of the cream cheese filling.
Note: You can also decorate the top with frozen berries when fresh fruit is out of season.
