    Brandy Chocolate Pecan Pie

    Pastry for 1 crust pie
    3 eggs
    1/2 cup firmly packed lightly brown sugar
    1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
    4 tablespoons butter, melted
    1 tablespoon brandy or 1 teaspoon vanilla
    3 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
    1 cup pecan halves
    One 9 in. unbaked pie shell

    Preheat oven to 350&Mac176;F. Line 9 in. Pie pan with pastry. Beat eggs until foamy; add sugar, corn syrup, butter and brandy. Mix well. Stir in chocolate. Arrange pecan halves in bottom of pie shell. Carefully pour filling into pie shell. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until filling is firm to the touch. Cool. If desired, decorate with whipped cream and chocolate curls.

    YIELD: Makes 6 to 8 servings.
