Chocolate Crackles

Blend together:
¾ cup cocoa
¾ cup oil
2 cup sugar
Add, beating well after each addition:
4 eggs, one at a time
Add:
2 tsp. vanilla
Combine and stir into chocolate mixture:
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
Add and mix thoroughly:
½ cup chopped walnuts
Chill soft dough overnight.
Shape into small balls and roll liberally in:
1 cup confectioner’s sugar
Bake on greased sheets at 350°F. for 10-12 minutes.
Yield: 6 dozen
Notes: 12/01 -- Made these for CEY’s English Class. They’re moist and fudgy. Used small cookie scoop and also rolled into a ball for better shape. Didn’t use nuts. Baked in parchment paper. 20/large sheet
