Cranberry Spice Cake

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 beaten egg
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 3/4 cups sifted enriched flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 cup cranberry sauce, jellied or whole




Recipe


Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg. Stir in raisins and nuts.

Combine dry ingredients and sift; add to first mixture. stir in cranberry
sauce.

Bake in moderate oven (350 F.) about 1 hour in greased tube pan, or for 30 to 40
minutes in greased 8-inch layer cake pans.
