    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups white lily self rising flour
    • 1/4 cup shortening
    • 2/3 or 3/4 cup milk-add milk slowly til desired dough consistency
    • melted butter


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Measure flour in bowl and level off. Cut in shortening til dough crumbs form using a pstry blender or fork. Blend in just enough milk with forks or hands untl dough leaves sides of bowl. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead no more than 10 to 12 strokes. Roll out 1/2 inch thick. Cut with 2 inch biscuit cutter dipping cutter info flour between cuts. Using a pastry brush spread melted butter over dough.

    2. Bake on ungreased baking sheet 8 to 10 minutes. Last few minutes of baking move biscuits up to top rack and place on broil just long enough to brown.

    3. Spray biscuits with butter after bringing out the oven.
