    Recipe Introduction

I got this recipe from our friend Pam Walker in England. I've already changed the measurements to american, as they use a different system then us. THESE ARE DIVINE!!!

    List of Ingredients

    1 1/4 C. Self rising Flour (or add 1 scant T. B.powder to all-purpose flour)
    1 t. Salt
    1/4 C. Butter, softned
1 C. Milk, soured w/1/2-1 t. lemon juice or vinegar

    Recipe

Sift flour and salt into a bowl. Cut in the butter.
Make a well in the center and mix in the milk - More if needed to make a dough. Knead lightly and roll out onto a lightly floured surface to about 3/4" thickness. Cut into circles about 1 1/2-2" diameter. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Glaze the tops only with milk.
Bake for 10-15 minutes at 450'.

Serve warm with butter, homemade jam and fresh whipped cream!

***This is also wonderful to use as topping for cobbler's***

***Add about 1/2 C. shredded sharp cheddar cheese, a little less milk, and a pinch of dry mustard to this for cheese scones***
