This tart crust taste like a wonderful sweet butter cookie!
I use it to make berry tart, lemon tart. It's the best crust for a tart that I've found!
List of Ingredients
1 C. Flour
1/4 C. Powdered Sugar
pinch Salt
6 T. (3/4 stick) chilled unsalted Butter, cut into 1/2"cubes
4 t. (or more if needed) chilled Whipping Cream (unwhipped)
1 Egg white, beatenRecipe
Combine flour, sugar, and salt in food processor; blend 5 seconds. Using on/off turns, blend in the butter until coarse meal forms. Add 4 t. cream. Using on/off turns, blend until moist clumps form, adding more cream if necessary by t. at a time if dough is too dry.
Gather dough into a ball; flatten into a disc shape. Wrap in seran wrap and chill at least 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350'. Roll dough on floured surface to a 12" circle. Transfer into a 9" round tart pan. Fold in any overhang pressing to form double-thick sides. Bake crust until golden, pressing with back of fork of crust bubbles, about 7-10 minutes (small cracks may appear).
Brush the inside of hot crust twice with the beaten egg white to seal the crust. Now add your filling and bake according to your filling directions.
