    A spice cake

    List of Ingredients




    2 C flour
    1-1/2 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1 scant tsp each of nutmeg, cloves, and allspice
    1/2 tsp or less of salt
    ***************
    1/2 C shortning
    1-1/2 C sugar
    2 egg yolks (save whites for frosting)
    1 whole egg
    1-1/2 C buttermilk

    Recipe



    Sift all of first set of ingredients together.

    Cream sugar and shortening, beat in eggs until smooth. Add buttermilk and dry ingredients, again beat until smooth.

    bake at 350 degrees 25-30 minutes
