    Island Apple Cake-k/a Jewish Apple Cake


    List of Ingredients


    • 3 cups flour
    • 2 1/2 cups sugar
    • 3 tsp.baking powder
    • 1/2 cup orange juice
    • 4 or 5 Granny Smith apples
    • 4 eggs
    • 1 cup of vegetable oil
    • 3 tsps. vanilla
    • pinch salt


    Instructions


    1. Preheat Oven to 350 degrees
    2. Beat all the ingredients until you have a heavy batter.
    3. Slice & peel 4 or 5 Granny Smith apples,add 5 tbls.sugar&5 tbls.cinnamon.,mix well & toss together
    4. Lightly grease tube pan-put 1/2 batter.layer of apples-
      the continue to layer batter&apples -last layer -batter
    5. Bake 1 1/2 hrs.When finished sprinkle top with
      powdered sugar while still warm.
