    Garlic Grits

    Recipe yields 8 servings.


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups of grits
    • 1 tablespoon of salt
    • 2 quarts of water
    • 6 ounces of cheddar cheese, grated
    • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
    • 1/4 pound of butter
    • 3 eggs, beaten
    • 2 cups of milk
    • Grated parmesan cheese


    Instructions


    1. Add grits to boiling salted water and cook, covered, until grits are tender but mixture is still pourable, about 20 minutes.
    2. Remove from heat and add cheese, garlic and butter; stir until cheese and butter are melted.
    3. Cool and add eggs and milk; pour into a large 4-quart greased casserole and bake at 325 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.
    4. Remove from oven, sprinkle with parmesan cheese and return to oven for 10 minutes.
