    • 2 cups Flour
    • 3 tsp anise seed
    • 1/2 cup almonds, ground fine
    • 1/3 cup sugar
    • 2 egg yolks
    • 2 sticks butter
    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar


    Instructions


    1. Put 1 tsp anise seed between two sheets of waxed paper and crush with rolling pin. Place flour on a counter top and sprinkle crushed anise seed over it.

    2. Add almonds and sugar. Mix well, drop in egg yolks one at a time and cut butter into slices over it.

    3. Knead into smooth dough and refrigerate for 1/2 hour. Take 1 tsp dough at a time and form into crescents.

    4. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake in preheated oven at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes until golden.

    5. Mix remaining 2 tsp anise seed with the powdered sugar carefully roll each cookie in it while hot.
