    Chipotle Chocolate Bars

    List of Ingredients


    • 4 tbl unsalted butter, cut into 8 peices
    • 3 oz bittersweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
    • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 tsp finely chopped canned chipotle, plus 1 tsp of adobo sauce
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 large egg
    • 1/3 cup flour


    Instructions


    1. Preheat the oven 350 degrees. Coat an 8-inch square baking pan with nonstick spray. In a med saucepan over med heat, stir the butter and chocolate until both are nearly melted.
    2. Remove from the heat and stir until completely melted. Blend the sugar, chipotle, adobo and vanilla. Working quickly to prevent curdling, whisk in the egg. Stir in the flour to make a smooth batter.
    3. Spread batter into the prepared pan. Bake until edges pull away from the sides of the pan and the center is just firm, 20-25 minutes. Let cool in the pan on a rack for at least 10 minutes before cutting.
