    List of Ingredients




    4 1/4 to 4 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
    4 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon salt
    3 tablespoons sugar
    1 cup raisins
    2 cups buttermilk
    butter

    Recipe



    1. Heat over to 350, grease and flour pan

    2. Mix in large bowl all dry ingredients and raisins.

    3. Add buttermilk and mix with fork until it forms a dough.

    4. Turn out onto floured board and knead for 5 minutes until forms smooth and load about 8 inch in diameter.

    5. Press into cake pan and slit across top.

    6. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes until loaf sounds hollow when rapped on bottom.

    7. Remove loaf onto wire rack and rub top with butter. Let cool before slicing.
