    Wilted Lettuce

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 good "mess" leaf lettuce or 2 heads bib lettuce
    • 1/2 bunch green onions - chopped
    • 1/2 medium red onion - sliced thin
    • 3 Tablespoons cider vinegar
    • 8 slices bacon


    Instructions


    1. Throughly clean and dry the lettuce.

    2. Fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet and let cool. Reserve grease. Crumble bacon and set aside.

    3. Combine lettuce, onions, crumbled bacon, and vinegar. Toss together.

    4. Heat bacon grease until very hot but not smoking. Pour immediately over salad greens. Toss and serve right away.



    Final Comments


    I haven't tried it yet, but I think a little crumbled blue cheese on this would be really good too.
