    List of Ingredients




    8 ounces extra-lean ground sirloin beef or turkey breast
    ½ cup finely chopped onion
    ½ cup chopped green bell pepper
    1 (8-ounce) can Hunt's Tomato Sauce
    1 teaspoon JO's Loose Meat Seasoning or any meat seasoning
    2 teaspoons Splenda Granular
    1 cup finely shredded lettuce
    1/3 cup shredded Kraft reduced-fat Cheddar cheese
    2 pita bread rounds, halved

    Recipe



    In a large skillet sprayed with butter-flavored cooking spray, brown meat, onion, and green pepper. Stir in tomato sauce, JO's Loose Meat Seasoning, and Splenda. Lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes. In a small bowl, combine lettuce and Cheddar cheese. For each sandwich, spoon about ½ cup meat mixture into a pita half and top with a full ¼ cup lettuce mixture. Serve at once.

    HINT: To make opening pita rounds easier, place pita halves on a paper towel and microwave on HIGH for 10 seconds. Remove and gently press open.

    Serves 4 – Each serving equals:
    205 Calories, 5 gm Fat, 15 gm Protein, 25 gm Carbohydrate, 494 mg Sodium, 90 mg Calcium, 4 gm Fiber
