    • 3/4 cup light beer
    • 3/4 cup water
    • 1 bay leaf
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
    • 1/8 teaspoon ground pepper
    • 1 pound beef round steak, trimmed of separable fat and cut into 1-inch pieces
    • 2 medium onions, cut into wedges
    • 2 medium green or sweet red peppers, cut into thin strips
    • 1/4 cup water
    • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    • 2 cups hot, cooked egg noodles

    Directions
In large saucepan stir together beer, the 3/4 cup water, bay leaf, 1/2 teaspoon salt, thyme, and ground pepper. Stir in meat. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 55 minutes. Add onions and green or red peppers and simmer about 20 minutes or until beef is tender. Remove bay leaf.
