    Chipotle Barbeque Sauce

    List of Ingredients




    1-28 oz. can crushed tomatoes

    3/4 c. molasses

    1 small onion chopped (about 1/2 c.)

    1/4 c. dry sherry

    1 Tbsp. Worchestershire sauce

    1 to 2 Tbsp. chipotle chiles in adobo sauce

    1 clove garlic minced

    1 tsp. ground allspice

    salt and pepper to taste

    2-3 drops liquid smoke

    Recipe



    In a 3 quart sauce pan, combine the tomatoes, molasses, onion,

    sherry, worchestershire sauce, chipotles, garlic, allspice, salt

    and pepper. Bring to a simmer over med. high heat. Reduce heat

    to low. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 30 min.

    Remove from heat and puree the mixture in a food processor.

    Return to low heat. Simmer 45 min. until reduced to 1 quart.
