    Clam Chowder

    List of Ingredients




    3/4 lb. chopped clams
    1 med. onion chopped
    3/4 c. chopped celery
    3-4 strips thick bacon chopped
    1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter
    1 Tbsp. oil
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. dried thyme
    1/4 tsp. paprika
    1 bay leaf
    1/4 c. flour
    2 med potatos peeled and cut
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. white wine
    1-8 oz. bottle clam juice
    1/2 c. whipping cream
    Milk (approx. 1 cup)

    Recipe



    In skillet, over med heat, cook onion, celery, and bacon

    in butter and oil. Add salt, pepper, thyme, paprika, and

    bay leaf. Cook until vegetables are crisp tender. Stir in

    flour until mixed. Cook 5 min. (don't burn). In sauce pan,

    cook potatos in water, wine, clam juice and liquid for 15

    min. Add clams, onion mix, and cream. Cook until thickened.

    Add milk to desired consistancy.
